Pirmi Travel Services: 3,500Php Romantic Dinner Cruise at Manila Bay via Sun Cruises

Dinner Cruise was one of the common suggestions among all those who joined our 2nd LAHniversary Giveaway. We haven't tried this though we thought of buying a voucher before. When Allen found this package at Pirmi Travel Services, he thought that our anniversary would be a great time to finally try the dinner cruise.

The Romantic Dinner Cruise package is for 2pax and already includes:
  • Set Dinner with 1 round of Iced Tea
  • A bottle of Red Wine
  • Lover's cake
  • Personalized Butler Service
  • Romantic Table Set-up
  • Acoustic Entertainment On-board
Optional: Additional 500Php for a Bouquet of Flowers (12pcs), which Allen also availed.

Daily Cruise Schedule: 6:15PM to 7:30PM and 8:00PM to 9:15PM

Boarding Time: 30 minutes before the cruise starts

The normal rate at Sun Cruises is 550Php/pax and includes a Set Dinner with 1 round of Iced Tea, and the Acoustic Entertainment while on board. I initially thought of just availing the normal cruise (1,100Php for the two of us) but Allen wanted it to be special.

We'll see if the 2,400Php difference is worth it.

*The Experience*

We arrived at around 5PM at the Sun Cruises terminal for a 5:45PM boarding time. Since we were early, it was understandable that the assigned butler to us hasn't arrived yet. It didn't take long and she came to give us instructions: present the voucher to Reservation office and wait for her to fetch us.

At 5:45PM, after all the passengers had boarded, our butler, Mary Anne, greeted us with a big smile and escorted us to the boat. She made it a point that we were well-attended and even volunteered to take pictures of Allen and I together. So most of the time, we didn't have to ask her.

my tablet wasn't able to capture the beautiful sunset but it was really stunning!

The 6:15PM schedule was perfect as we were able to get a view of the very beautiful sunset at the start of the cruise, as well as the city lights towards the end of the cruise.

our romantic table setup

Our table was dressed differently compared to the other passengers' tables. A small picture frame was our centerpiece and it was surrounded by rose petals. Hmm... romantic indeed! We really felt special during "our" day.

For dinner, water was first served, followed by soup and a glass of iced tea. The plate was filled with a cup of rice, fish fillet, a beef dish (I'm not sure of its name), and a side dish. Coffee jelly as dessert was also served.

The food were delicious. Fish fillet was okay, even the side dish I was able to eat, and the beef course was soft and sweet and I love it! My only complaint was the iced tea that tasted really bland. Maybe due to the melted ice. Still, thumbs up for the set meal!

Next, our red wine was served followed by the cake, and the bouquet of roses was presented to me. I haven't tasted red wine in my life and I'm also no longer taking any alcoholic beverage inside my body maybe for some years now. For this occasion, I tried to sip from my red wine glass twice, yet I really can't finish it. We just had it for takeout. For the cake, it was Red Ribbon's Ultimate Chocolate Cake junior size, which is an excellent choice. Though I love the cake, we were a bit full because of the set meal so we just had a small slice each and the rest for take out. The bouquet was a simple arrangement but still pretty. I counted the roses but there were only 11. I figured, the 12th rose was the one used to decorate the table.

city lights and a windy night

It was during dinner that we get to appreciate the city lights view but somehow, my attention was divided as I was eating. There was also an acoustic performer on-board to entertain the guests. Our butler gave us a pen and paper so we can request for a song or for special greeting.

I am not sure if it was the limited time, or I was just "high" with all the happenings since I stepped on the boat, that I was overwhelmed. The beautiful sunset, the amiable butler, the romantic table setup, the great food, the acoustic performer, the breath-taking city lights, and of course, the add-on cake, bouquet, and wine made this day really special and perfect for a celebration. I wish we had an extended time so I could appreciate more every detail.
