The Dairy Good Academy : Brunch Edition |
A healthy brunch, rich conversations, and hands-on food experiences -- that’s how my morning went at The Dairy Good Academy: Brunch Edition held last August 15, 2025 at the Grand Hyatt Garden Pavilion. The luncheon was part of the EU Organic Dairy PH campaign, which has been helping Filipinos understand the value of choosing organic European dairy.
A Taste of Organic Goodness
Right at the start, we were treated to a brunch buffet that showcased just how versatile organic European dairy can be. From milk and spreads, to puddings and desserts, every dish highlighted the natural creaminess and richness of dairy. Even better, the creations from Chef Roland “Chef Lau” Laudico and Chef Jac Laudico, prepared during their live cooking demo, were also part of the buffet -- so yes, we got to taste everything after watching them in action. Each bite was proof of how organic dairy can elevate even our well-loved Filipino dishes.![]() |

One of my favorite activities was a DIY pairing station featuring organic European cream cheese. We got to build our own pairings with crackers, cold cuts, fruits, veggies, nuts, and more. It was simple, fun, and a great way to appreciate how such a staple ingredient can work in so many combinations.
Insights Beyond the Table
The program wasn’t just about food -- it was also about learning. Tom Alonzo, campaign representative and Digital Marketing Manager of Arla Philippines, shared the campaign’s milestones and reminded us of its heart: organic European dairy is a naturally good choice for people, animals, and the planet.![]() |

Then came the talks that left me with new perspectives. Jeaneth Aro, Olympic and elite performance nutrition coach, explained how milk is not just for kids. It’s actually a powerful recovery drink for adults too, helping with hydration and muscle repair. Jo Sebastian, registered nutritionist-dietitian, shared how adding organic European dairy to everyday cooking makes dishes creamier, richer, and even more enticing for picky eaters.
These discussions made me more aware of why organic dairy matters. Beyond taste, it’s about better nutrition, sustainable practices, and animal welfare.
Why Organic European Dairy Stands Out
We also learned how European organic farms follow strict standards:- At least 95% of ingredients must be organic to earn certification.
- No artificial flavorings, colorants, sweeteners, GMOs, or growth hormones.
- Limited use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
Animal welfare is prioritized too. Cows are allowed to roam freely and graze on organic feed, raised without antibiotics or hormones.

Denmark, a pioneer in organic dairy production, was highlighted as a model country with thousands of certified organic farms. Among Denmark’s 34,000 farms, 4,000 are certified organic. Denmark owes its success to the innovation and hard work of its farmers. Farmers like Torben Sønderby of Klint Organic shared how their dedication ensures every drop of milk meets the highest quality standards.

Bringing Natural Goodness to More Homes
The campaign isn’t ending with this brunch. From now until January 2026, there will be supermarket samplings, consumer classes, wellness talks, and more cooking demos to encourage Filipinos to discover and enjoy organic European dairy at home.![]() |
Choose Organic European Dairy -- Look for the Green logo! |
Like Mom, entrepreneur, and lifestyle influencer Steffy Gerona shared:
As someone who loves preparing wholesome meals for my family, it’s reassuring how organic European dairy is handled with so much care. I learned that it’s easy to identify authentic organic products by just looking at the EU organic logo. Learning about these standards made me more mindful about the food choices I make daily
For Lars Witt Jensen, Senior Marketing Manager at the Danish Dairy Board, the hope is simple:
We’re proud that more Filipinos are becoming aware of what organic stands for and how they’re showing interest in learning about its benefits. I hope that through our campaign, consumers will be more empowered when they look for the EU organic logo on dairy products. This way, they can discover its practical applications and enjoy the natural goodness of organic European dairy.

Final Thoughts
Looking back, it wasn’t just a brunch -- it was an experience that opened my eyes (and taste buds!) to how much better organic European dairy can be. From the buffet spread to the cream cheese activity, to the insightful talks, everything pointed to one clear takeaway: when we choose organic, we choose something good for ourselves, for animals, and for the planet.![]() |
