We often joke about the cramps, mood swings, and midnight pad checks, but the truth is, menstruation impacts our day-to-day life more than we realize. That’s why I was excited to attend the Modess Comfortverse last September 4, 2025 at Vestido Manila -- a beautiful, immersive space dedicated to helping women talk about periods openly, break myths, and feel empowered with the right knowledge and products.

It wasn’t just an educational event, it was an experience! It was a safe, thoughtful space where comfort and confidence were celebrated.

Learning from Experts and Breaking Period Myths

One of the highlights for me was the panel discussion featuring Isabel Lacson-Ruiz, Franchise Lead for Feminine Care and Skin Health at Kenvue Philippines, OB-GYN Dr. Kristine Tangco, Dermatologist Dr. Ayees Mendoza, and lifestyle personality and body positivity advocate Ayn Bernos.

Menstruation is a natural and powerful part of a woman’s life, and how we experience it directly impacts our well-being. Through this campaign, we’re advocating for menstrual care that doesn’t just protect. Our hypoallergenic top sheet is also a promise of comfort, especially where women need it most.

Ayn Bernos also shared how her own skin sensitivity changed the way she looked at feminine care.

I used to think that irritation and discomfort were just part of the experience. Confidence really starts with feeling good in your own skin and that includes your most intimate moments. What really stuck with me was how the doctors emphasized the importance of choosing the right menstrual products.

Hearing all this helped me debunk some common period myths I grew up believing, and made me more mindful about what I use during that time of the month.

Aside from the eye-opening discussions, I had so much fun at the hands-on activities! We got to create our own Modess Kit, complete with cute charms from The Joyful Crafts by Melody, and tried our hand at a relaxing flower arrangement activity by Bloomingailsph. And at the end of the event, I even won pampering voucher during the raffle! Weee!

The setup at Vestido Manila was just gorgeous -- cozy, bright, and thoughtfully designed to make you feel at ease. It was such a perfect space to talk about a topic that’s often treated as taboo.
