Dencio's: 15th Branch Now Open at Mall of Asia Arena Annex (MAAX)!

Dencio's SM Mall of Asia Arena Annex (MAAX)

Dencio's officially opened its 15th branch last July 28, 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena Annex (MAAX). This branch is strategically located to cater MOA customers who usually go shopping, attend functions or conventions, or watch concerts or games. Even church goers can enjoy sumptuous Filipino dishes before or after the mass as this branch has a nearby church.
Outdoor seating

Dencio's MAAX has outdoor seating for smoking customers, or those who just want al fresco. And even when you're seated outside, you can still watch the happenings inside through the glass walls.
bar on the right "Basta sisig, Dencio's"

Inside is a seamless combination of a restaurant and a bar. The place is spacious enough that it managed to have a bar, a function room for private gatherings, an area for live band/acoustic, and yes, to have those huge classic hanging lamps!
I love those hanging lamps!

And of course, this visit won't be complete without trying some of Dencio's classic and modern dishes.
some classic and fusion

Baked Green Mussels (399Php)
Dencio's well-loved baked mussels with grated cheese and paprika topping
Baked Green Mussels

I find these Baked Green Mussels larger than usual that each piece is satisfying. It's rather buttery than cheesy, though, but still good.
Baked Green Mussels Krispy Sisig

Dencio's Krispy Sisig (regular - 219Php, large - 349Php, special [with egg] - add 16Php)
Classic Krispy Sisig made of chopped crispy pork jowl, generously sprinkled with minced red onions, and served on a sizzling plate

They have this line, "Basta sisig, Dencio's" so we made sure to have Dencio's Krispy Sisig on our table. Indeed, it is crispy while the meat is finer rather than chunky. Not sure if due to the egg, but I didn't find it spicy at all. The taste is just right though we were provided soy sauce and hot sauce so we can adjust it to our liking.

Fried Chicken Tinola (half - 409Php, whole - 645Php)
The fried chicken gets a tinola twist with its peppery and gingery taste. Comes with lumpiang sayote
Fried Chicken Tinola

So we were thinking on what to add and one of the suggested dishes is the Fried Chicken Tinola. My assumption is that the fried chicken will be placed in tinola and that's it! But it turns out, it is way more creative than that. It looks like a simple fried chicken with lumpia and sauce, but when I tasted the chicken, amazing... it is tinola! And those fried rolls are sayote. But what made everything far more outstanding is the sauce! A mix of sour and spice and something indescribable goodness in between that we ended up using this sauce in other dishes as well.

Leche Flan (70Php)
Leche Flan

Just to have something for dessert, we ordered this Leche Flan. It is really quite small for the price but it is firmer than most leche flans I've tried.
Leche Flan Turon de Sorbetes

Turon de Sorbetes (95Php)
Turon de Sorbetes

I think there were five finger-like turon and a scoop of vanilla ice cream in this Turon de Sorbetes. Crunchy turon perfectly matched with ice cream to make it a bit special.
Buko Lychee (Php 89) Mango Chili (Php 110)

For the drinks, I had their Buko Lychee shake and Mango Chili shake. For the Buko Lychee, you can really taste the buko and the lychee so I think it's good. Though I wish they had straws with bigger holes as there were bigger bits of lychee that cannot get through the regular sized straw. Mango Chili really intrigued me not only with the combination of mango and chili, but also with its gorgeous look. It's sweet and zesty, with a heat sensation that can be felt in your mouth and throat.
personalized shot glass

A hangout spot for friends and family, a restaurant and a bar, a place for Filipino classic dishes and some with a twist. Some dishes have above average pricing but you'll definitely enjoy their creative take on Filipino dishes. Congratulations, Dencio's, on this newest branch!
