TRAVEL: 2D1N at Sampaguita Beach, Bauan, Batangas

Sampaguita Beach in Bauan, Batangas is one of the Philippine beaches that is yet to be explored. Located at the foot of the mountain, one can easily forget the bumpy ride once seen the white sand on the narrow shoreline and crystal clear water.

Accommodation
Sampaguita Beach Resort - There are far more popular yet expensive resorts in Sampaguita Beach. But this Sampaguita Beach Resort was just enough to suit our simple, yet enjoyable vacation. All cottages are facing the beach and ranges from 300-400Php. There are also simple rooms (with toilet&bathroom) for overnighters at 1,500-3,000Php. Note that all their 11 rooms are fan rooms. But you need not worry as based from our experience, the night gets really cold that we no longer have to use the fan. There were also no bugging mosquitoes. No corkage as you really have to bring food. There's electricity so you can bring rice cooker; you can borrow grills and cooking utensils. They also have a small store for some chips, drinks, and toiletries. Call Ate Carina for more information: 09163749536.

What to do
swimming, sunbathing, chill, photoshoot, bonfire and grill some hotdogs & mallows

Where to go
Staying at the beach is already worth it. Yet you can also visit the other nearby resorts

Specialty/Souvenirs
It's good to try the Batangas Lomi. We ate at Lando's Eatery on our way to Sampaguita Beach. The place is air-conditioned.  They are priced at 50Php, while special lomi is at 80Php. Big serving, I must say.

Other comments
It is advisable to bring/rent a van going to the place as the road is filled with up-down and zigzags. I also didn't really see public vehicles along the road.
Here's an instruction on how to get there:
  • From SLEX take the Batangas Exit
  • Enter the STAR toll and you'll reach Batangas City
  • Take the route going to Bauan until you reach the Bauan Municipality
  • Once you see the Bauan Doctors Hospital, turn left going to Anilao
  • Go straight reaching Brgy. San Pedro but be sure not to miss the small San Pedro Bridge located after the Rising Tide Construction Supply that you can see at the ride side of the road
  • Just at the end of San Pedro Bridge, turn right at the small road. Just go straight until you reach the beach. Note that the narrow up-down zigzag road starts from here

Narrow shoreline, white sand, very clear water!
