Terminator Dark Fate: 4 Reactions to this 2019 Sequel!

Terminator Dark Fate October 2019
Terminator: Dark Fate

Got tickets for the special advance screening of Terminator: Dark Fate last October 24, 2019 at SM Aura IMAX. This sequel is to be shown on October 30, 2019 in theaters nationwide.

It is R-13 and so I wasn't able to bring my son. I think it was also my first time watching at SM Aura IMAX. Huge screen, comfy seats. It still appears too big from our seat, row F, but it was manageable to focus. That row also has a huge leg room.

Something to note before I proceed to my "4 Reactions to Terminator: Dark Fate" is that I'm not really a Terminator fan but I've watched and enjoyed some of the previous movies. So what you'll be reading here is based on my limited knowledge on Terminator and how I perceived the movie.
Showing on October 30, 2019 - R-13

  • "So What Timeline Are We?" If you're not familiar with Terminator movies, what happens is there's always a Terminator from the future sent back to a certain timeline to "terminate" a target. And there's also someone who's going to protect the target. Especially in Terminator Genisys, there has been a number of time travelling. So what timeline are we for Terminator: Dark Fate? I learned that it is after Terminator 2. But beware as this alternate universe totally, as in totally, changed the Terminator we knew, all other franchises included

  • "Oh Yeah, The Original Sarah Conor Is Back!" Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor is back! Dark Fate tries to go back to the roots by starring one of the original casts, Linda Hamilton, and of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger, before bringing the plot to a completely new universe. Several Terminator movies passed after T2 without Linda in the picture. But now she's back, aged, but packed with fierceness and battle gear

  • "Action-Packed Indeed!"  I was literally holding my breath during the action scenes like "when can we breathe??". Definitely a ride -- on land, on air, under water -- name it, they've got a heart-pumping action scene for that. This is one of the reasons why I still enjoyed this movie despite not following all Terminator sequels

  • "Thank you, Arnie!" It isn't a Terminator movie without Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's his presence that I always look forward and for Dark Fate, he came a little bit later, missing most of the actions scenes, but still well-valued. He appeared as the current-age Arnold you would even doubt if still fit for fight and chase scenes. But I love how humor was inserted while he delivered it poker-faced. The producers made sure that Arnold's character will still have a valuable contribution in the end

Go on and watch Terminator: Dark Fate showing on October 30, 2019 and let's see if you'll get the same reactions as I did!
