LG: Honoring the True Heroes of Marawi on National Heroes Day!

Colonel Jeffrey Jake Gallenero, Philippine Army MNSA, Chief of Staff, AFP Health Service Command and Mr. Inkwun Heo, Managing Director of LG Philippines

LG Philippines continues to give back to the community and our country on its 30th anniversary, and this time, the subject is our present heroes. On National Heroes Day, LG took the opportunity to honor the true heroes of Marawi -- the soldier casualties and injured -- through donation in kind to the Victoriano Luna Medical Center, a government hospital that provides support and sanctuary to injured soldiers and those who suffered casualties during Marawi siege.

Ten (10) 1.5 HP Dual Cool Inverter Split Type Air Purifying Deluxe Airconditioners, two (2) 13kg Inverter Top Load Washing Machines, one (1) 24 cu ft Side by Side Refrigerator and ten (10) 43" Smart TVs were handed over by LG Philippines Manager Director Mr. Inkwun Heo to Col. Jeffrey Jake Gallenero, Philippine Army MNSA, Chief of Staff, AFP Health Service Command (AFPHSC). This event was held last August 29, 2018 at the AFP Health Service Command, and witnessed by chiefs of each operating unit and staff of the AFPHSC.

Keeping the welfare of our soldiers in mind, these donations from LG are meant to ease the recovery and have a more comfortable stay at the center. LG's quality products and features are suited to the needs of our soldiers. For instance, the airconditioners have independently working Air Purification mode that cleans and circulates the air. Not only this assures patients breathe clean air, but because of its low sound level operation, our soldiers get to have uninterrupted sleep to have the rest they deserve.

The Side by Side Refrigerator has multiple cooling air vents that distribute and circulate cool air to every corner of the refrigerator, ensuring that the staff’s and patients’ food are properly cooled and remain fresh, while the 13kg Inverter Top Load Washing Machines have a Turbo Drum feature that enables the most powerful wash and the removal of the toughest hospital stains. The airconditioners, washing machines and refrigerator are all equipped with the latest inverter technology, ensuring that the medical center enjoys bigger energy savings but with more efficient appliances.

These donations were greatly appreciated by BGen Augustus H De Villa, Acting Commander AFP Health Service Command (AFPHSC) stating that these are means of recognizing the efforts and valor of our soldiers for their service to the country.

Prior to these donations to Victoriano Luna Medical Center, LG has already provided roughly 30,000 personal care products, and 200 computer monitors to 46 public schools in Marawi aiming to promote products and services that serve the local community. These CSR projects from LG is their way of developing and sharing technology that cares!
