Having a Blogger Boyfriend

Having a Blogger Boyfriend

I have been "blogging" since Friendster days, but I don't really consider myself as a blogger; the same way that not all who can dance are dancers, nor all who can sing are singers. All I know is that I'm considering it as an online journal/diary and your choice if you want to publish it or not. Mainly, for self-purpose.

Then came this guy who proudly claims himself as a blogger, and showed another world of blogging than I used to. The aspect where it is almost a profession. You update your blog daily, search or create trending topics, put ads, and aim for traffic -- that's how you earn money on it (ca$hing-ca$hing!). Aside from the earnings, there are also other perks of being a blogger. Lucky enough that the "guy-on-the-spotlight" is my boyfriend so I get to share the benefits. How about free movie tickets for a block screening of the latest movie? Gift Certificates, anyone? Eat-all-you-can buffets for promotion? Oh, free food for review? Well, those are just some of the goodies!

However, I must admit that there are times when I feel that I'm just a mistress... and blogging is his real love... the Legal Wife. I cannot deny that before there was "us", blogging was already in his life. His companion, who fills his day, where he spends his time. I might have diverted his attention a bit when I came, but now he's back on track! Starving stomach had to wait as he needs to take pictures of the food first -- for his blog. He said he's tired and needed to go home, yet stayed up late to create new entries -- for his blog. From trending to anything, as long as he can write about it -- for his blog! Wow, but how can I complain if I, myself, am enjoying the juices he gets from blogging? Life of a mistress.

As the saying goes, "befriend your enemy". And so what am I doing? Oh yeah... blogging!
