I've always been a fan of Jollibee that every new product they release excites me! Found a reason not to cook lunch too (haha) to try this fiery yet deliciously-looking version of the famous Chicken Joy.
Jollibee Sweet Chili Chicken is basically Chicken Joy smothered in sweet chili sauce. The signature juicy-licious langhap-sarap chicken meat is still there, but minus the crispy-licious chicken skin as it is covered in sauce. Sweet chili flavor is not new to us. We have it as part of our usual condiments, and it's best for lumpiang shanghai. I pretty much have an idea of what to expect with this new product. But when I took the first bite together with a spoonful of rice, wow, it was an explosion! Yes, it is the sweet chili that I know but a heightened version. There's sweetness at the start then hotness that lingered on my tongue for minutes. *Sniff-sniff*. I would say I have medium tolerance to spiciness and this borders it. If you want it less hot, go for the white meat. Finishing a meal with this new Sweet Chili Chicken is indeed a exciting chicken experience!
