Repertory Philippines STAGE KISS 

Repertory Philippines (REP) opened its 83rd Season during this love month with a play that will make you laugh, love, and ponder. Directed by the multi-awarded film and stage director Carlos Siguion-Reyna, get ready for a powerhouse cast and a next-level performance in Sarah Ruhl's STAGE KISS.

Missy Maramara, Tarek el Tayech, Andres Borromeo 

It's a play within a play. Or more like the actors' life on and off stage depicted in a play. Plot was seemingly straightforward -- ex-lovers in real life who met again and were cast as lovers onstage. But what happened next was where I found myself engrossed in as the story unfolds.

More than the well-written story, what really made me applaud was how the actors portrayed being "actors". Take for instance Missy Maramara -- especially Missy Maramara -- who played "She". She effortlessly made us laugh several times, yet delicately and surely set the line between "real life" and "onstage" acting. Tarek El Tayech as "He", REP veterans Jaime Wilson, Robbie Gueverra, and new REPpers Andres Borromeo, Justine Narciso, Mica Pineda all spiced up the show with their crazy antics.
