Torch: Signature Roll, BBQ Chicken Pizza, and more!

Torch

After a long and heavy lunch, dinner was almost optional. But since we're with a little boy who ran and played all day, we cannot skip a night meal. We scouted some restaurants at Bonifacio High Street and found Torch.
the light fixtures are nice accent

Torch offers a wide range of mostly fusion dishes from Japanese, Italian, and American cuisines. They have pizza, burger, pasta, sushi, steak, and more so whatever craving you have, you can find something here to satisfy it.
even the interior is a fusion

Even the restaurant ambiance reflects the international fusion. The tall grass decorations are very Oriental-looking, paired with brick walls, then classy couches. Just like the food they serve, the items and interior are of different nature yet go well together.
Fried Pasta Sticks Red Iced Tea  (Php 75 - bottomless)

A glass with Fried Pasta Sticks was given as complimentary while we wait for food. It's so simple, just seasoned with salt, yet was so fun to look at and to eat. My son almost finished it. For drinks, I had bottomless Red Iced Tea served in a slanted glass.

Torch's signature dishes are their gourmet pizza, oven-baked sushi, and angus steaks. Since we wanted something relatively light, we tried their sushi and pizza.

Even though this is a bit pricey, we still went for Torch's Signature Roll. For one, whenever it is my first time to visit a restaurant, I always try to order something that bears the restaurant's name thinking that it should represent the place. Another reason is that its description in the menu says that it is loaded with fillings and toppings.

Indeed, it was loaded! A piece was also huge that I can hardly eat it in one bite. However, it didn't live to my expectations. It was okay but not as "wow" as it looked. I love Japanese food, especially sushi, but despite the number of ingredients it had, it still felt like there's something missing. I'm still willing to try their other sushi, though.

I wasn't so happy with the sushi, but their pizza is another story. We ordered pizza for my son and I chose BBQ Chicken Pizza since it has the "kiddie" icon. I was surprised that the serving size is huge given the price. And yes, my son loved it! Actually, not just my son as I also enjoyed it. It has thin crispy, somewhat flaky, crust topped with yummy barbecue sauce and cheese. I so love this that I instantly wanted to try the other pizza flavors.

Huge serving size, fast serving time, kid-friendly restaurant that they even have animal balloons for their little guests. The experience is still overall good and would definitely visit Torch again to try their other interesting dishes.
