Meat Up: Ultimate Cheese Burger, Prime Tapa, and more!

Meat Up

It was a spontaneous idea to dine out on a Sunday night. The nearest mall to our place is Starmall Prima Taguig. Meat Up got our heart..err, stomach as it is the most unfamiliar and relatively new among all the restaurants there.
wood and pipes

The place has a laid-back atmosphere with its comfy chairs and couch, and wooden pieces on walls, counters, and tables . It also provides a hint of industrial feel with the exposed pipes and hanging lights. I love the lights that made use of mason jars (though I wasn't able to take a photo). There were 3 televisions and good thing one is playing a kiddie show/movie. That kept my son entertained while waiting for the food.

Kamias Shake (120Php)
Kamias Shake

I ordered Kamias Shake just because I haven't tried this before, nor have I encountered this in other restaurants. I just know kamias is sour but I'm interested how it will be in a shake. It was good and refreshing, not too sour. I also like that there are shredded bits of kamias that added to the texture.

Quesadilla (140Php)
Tortilla folds filled with cheddar cheese and mozzarella. Served with sour cream and salsa

I was expecting more of a plain cheese Quesadilla and so when I found salsa as part of the filling, it became a bit off. Somehow, the salsa in the filling countered the cheesiness and so it wasn't really as cheesy as it looks. I liked the sour cream sauce though the consistency can be made creamier and a bit thicker. This is still enjoyable and not bad for its price. I just happen to have a different expectation.

Cheesy Laing (110Php)

Who would think cheese and laing would go well together? Well, it did and it's in a form of Cheesy Laing. I like the gooey-ness of the cheese and the laing itself is good, too. I usually eat laing with rice but for this one, I made an exception and ate it as it is.

Prime Tapa Big Plate (240Php)
150 grams of prime tapa with two eggs, garlic fried rice, atchara, bowl of lugaw, and house blend iced tea
Prime Tapa Big Plate

When they say Big Plate, they really mean it. And it's not just a huge plate, it's a well-filled plate. Talk about heavy breakfast and this Prime Tapa meal will not disappoint you. It's your tapsilog plus more! It's not your usual sweet-type tapa but this is good and savory. Prime tapa indeed.
Prime TapaChicken Teriyaki

Chicken Teriyaki (260Php)

Chicken Teriyaki Big Plate

Although on a big plate and of huge serving, this Chicken Teriyaki is not as loaded as Prime Tapa and doesn't come with iced tea. It's good that they provided a separate teriyaki sauce as I noticed that the chicken tend to be dry so dipping on the sauce helped. It was a huge and thick boneless chicken and I liked its smoky flavor.

Ultimate Cheese Burger (240Php)
1/2 pound of 100% pure beef patty on a 5" black sesame bun, topped with melted cheddar cheese, fresh romaine lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Served with fries.
Ultimate Cheese Burger

Last but definitely not the least is the Ultimate Cheese Burger. It's a huge burger in which I love, love, love the melted cheese! It also has a huge patty to deal with. I love this one and it's a must try when you dine here. If you don't find it "ultimate" enough, add bacon for Php 40 or more cheese sauce for Php 20.
Ultimate Cheese Burger top

Overall, it was a filling and fulfilling Sunday dinner with my family. I say the food were all affordable considering the serving size, and all good! Will definitely come back especially if we're up for a heavy meal. They still have a lot in their menu which I would want to try. They have dishes for sharing and personal meals, too.
