Puerto Galera is in Oriental Mindoro, part of MIMAROPA Region. It is one of the most populated summer destinations in the Philippines.

*details in this post are based on own travel experience

May 14-15, 2011 (2days, 1night)

High Level Itinerary

Meet up at Buendia (Gil Puyat), Taft Ave
From Manila to Batangas Pier (JAM or Tritran bus departs every hour starting 3AM; Fare: P135-170)
From Batangas Pier to White Beach (Boat ride costs us P540 round-trip including terminal and
environmental fees)
Look for lodging, breakfast, picture taking, lunch, snorkeling, island hopping, dinner, night life

whatever time we wake up
Brunch, banana boat, souvenir shopping

Peter's Inn (less than P500 each/night)

What to do
swimming, sunbathing, chill, island hopping, banana boat (P200), snorkeling (P200), enjoy the night life while watching poi dancers and entertainers, a lot of picture taking

Where to go
You can just stay in the island or go island hopping on the nearby islands

We find it most "sulit" at Foodtrip sa Galera with its unlimited garlic rice

You can find a lot of souvenir stores in this place: shirts (P100+), bracelets (P10-35), bags, etc for affordable prices.

Other comments
We didn't really have an itinerary nor lodging reservations, and indeed, it is a place where you can do that as once you get off the boat, people will come to you to offer places to stay and activities to do. So if you do not have reservations, you just need your "haggle" powers to make your stay worthwhile.

the ever cliche jump shot!

banana boat splash

water wheel

wild night
