Techy Lah's Christmas Gifts: Newmen Mouse and Eneloop AA Batteries

What I like about Christmas is that it gives me an opportunity to give gifts to people without them asking why. It is also a chance for me to receive stuff that though I can afford but were given to me out of their thoughtful initiatives. Still there's an element of surprise which won't be possible if I'll be the one buying the stuff for myself. (Now my thoughts are getting weirder.. hehe)

This is my first Christmas with Lah (Allen), and I guess giving gifts to people you love has been a tradition. I received two material stuff from him and I find two reasons as well why appreciate his gifts and worth posting. [1] His gifts clearly reflects the giver: Techy Gifts from Techy Lah; [2] His gifts are useful and exactly what I need. Let me tell you more about that part.

Newmen Optical Mouse from Octagon (Php295.00)

Well, Lah told me the story behind this gift is that... he has always seen me literally banging my mouse since it is intermittently working -- it won't hold when highlighting text, unnecessary double-clicking, etc. (By the way, I ain't really particular with mouse so I was then using a Php150 CDR-King mouse.) He might figured that it just gives further stress to me at work and so he thought of giving me this. Now that's sweet...

The color is perfect -- sexy red and white. It's ergonomic and just fits my huge hand.

Upon test using, it is quite snappy, but ain't too sensitive which is a good thing. But yes, I need to use it more to judge its quality.

SANYO Eneloop XX NiMh AA Rechargeable Battery 2500mAh (Php650.00)

Now I didn't know that this will be given as a gift as it is quite pricey yet reasonable. All I know was I was asking help from Lah in ordering this online. I needed the AA Batteries as my Power Shot A720 IS has resurrected and my 2-year old NiMH Ansmann batteries have retired.

Eneloop has been recommended by my friends due to its low self-discharge. Having it in 2500mAh is a plus as it means more clicks with my camera. I have tried using it during the Holidays and so far so good. Took several shots (some with flash) from 3 different events (not on the same day) with my camera power sourcing only from 2 of the Eneloop batteries. I heard its performance would even get better after having its few full cycles so I still have to look forward to that.

Now with all these, thank you so much Lah! :)
