McDonald's: Kiddie Crew Workshop now on its 25th Year!

McDonald's Kiddie Crew Workshop 2017

Five years ago, I wasn't a mom at that time, I witnessed my then 6-year-old niece participate as McDonald's Kiddie Crew (you can find my post here: http://www.patchesoflifebyjessa.com/2012/04/be-mcdonalds-kiddie-crew-this-summer.html). I saw how she enjoyed the activities and the interaction with guests and crew. I told myself that by the time I have my own kid, I hope there will still be McDonald's Kiddie Crew so my child can experience it.

Fast forward to 2017 and this program is now celebrating its 25th year! My son is just 3 years old but he still got the chance to be a McDonald's Kiddie Crew as McDonald's Philippines and TheAsianParent Philippines held a 1-day Kiddie Crew Workshop for the children of Asociacion de Damas de Filipinas.

In full gear and while waiting for the other kids, here's my son warming up with the provided activity book and meal. Oh, he loves Chicken McDo!

Time to work! The children were divided into three groups where they were stationed at the Front Counter, Lobby/On-Floor, and Drive-Thru. They also visited the kitchen. My son always breaks out from the group as he still gets easily distracted by a lot of new things he is seeing. So age 6-12 years old would really be recommended to enjoy this workshop fully.

This workshop becomes even more exciting with activities like Make-Your-Own Cheeseburger and Make-Your-Own Dessert. Chef's hat and apron are included in the package.

For the cheeseburger-making activity, complete ingredients such as buns, burger patty, cheese, mustard, ketchup, minced onions, and pickles were laid down on the table. The kids were taught step-by-step on how to assemble the burger. My son can hardly follow so I helped him on this. Don't worry, Ronald McDonald was also there to assist.

The activity that my son enjoyed the most is the dessert-making! Though we really weren't able to see the finished product as every time he puts a spoonful of ingredient into the sundae, another spoonful goes into his mouth! Haha! But I can see that he loved it.

It was just a one-day workshop but the children were already filled with energy and happiness, especially at the end when they get to sing and dance with Ronald McDonald. So what more of a full-blown 5-day workshop? Thank you, McDonald's PH and TheAsianParent PH not only for letting us participate, but also for making us part of this event that placed huge smiles on the faces of the children from Asociacion de Damas de Filipinas.

Workshops happen weekly from March 20 to June 02, 2017 in almost 500 participating McDonald's nationwide. Registration fee is Php 650 which includes workshop materials, meals for 5 days, and the official Kiddie Crew shirt, cap, bag, ID with lanyard, chef's hat, apron, and graduation tokens.
